  • Joseph Kobo event hailed a great success!

  • Joseph Kobo, also the nephew of Nelson Mandela, was like Nelson Mandela imprisoned on Robben Island, off Cape Town on a charge of treason. Bishop Kobo spoke of his trials and triumphs at St. Margaret's Church; the evening turned out to be a great success. Thanks to all who attended!

  • Meeting with Euro Talk on ski slopes!

  • Stephen Clarke met with Andrew from Euro Talk and interspersed their discussions with occasional trips to the nearby ski slopes. The discussions included exploring the nature of the collaboration and recording it, as well as looking at plans for the future. Euro Talk are travelling to Uganda during May with the winners of the junior language challenge to install solar powered hand held MP4 players containing TME lessons in a number of schools.


  • Associate travelling to Punjab.

  • Gareth Eastgate an Associate from Leamington is travelling to the Punjab in India on Business during June and will explore possible links with up to 200 schools operated by one organisation in the area.


  • Two new sound tracks in Tamil.

  • Anna Morris, a medical student, has recently returned from an elective in Tamil Nadu where she recorded two soundtracks in Tamil and engaged a hospital in the TME programme. Anna has lots of ideas and whilst she was there drafted a script on Sickle Cell anaemia which is endemic there.


  • Pippa and Steve get Intellectual!

  • Steve met with Pippa Donovan to discuss intellectual property issues. Pippa introduced us to a friend who has just left a merchant bank in London to go and live in New York. The friend, Jackie, agreed to look into a better investment strategy for TME and will hopefully continue to be supportive from her American base.


  • Chance of new partnerships in Uganda!

  • Tom Wright a friend from York will travel to Uganda in August and may be able to carry out some recordings for us whilst there. He will also be looking for new partnerships.


  • Steve and TME Associate Dick Leith meet with the principal of Atlantic College!

  • The college has 65 language groups amongst its students - in addition we plan to involve them in recording and translating in the new academic year in September.


  • Exciting new development with Panasonic!

  • Steve Clarke and Bev Pettle met with three people from the Community Action Network with regard to collaborating with a major corporate sponsor. As a result, Panasonic are interested in seconding two people for 12 days over a six month period to develop a marketing and distribution plan. This is a very exciting development as it is a very good fit with our no.1 priority of scaling up impact in the field.


  • Steve on sabbatical.

  • The trustees have agreed a 3-month sabbatical for Steve Clarke during June, July and August. This means capacity will be reduced but the focus will be on obtaining more sound recordings for scripts which have already been translated.


  • L K Bennett Event raises charity profile!

  • We had a "profile raising evening" at L K Bennett, which has been hailed a great success!
