The Trustees make up the legal body responsible in the UK for the charity. They are also the directors of the limited company "Thare Machi". They meet 3-4 times a year and are all actively involved in strategy and governance.
Helen Taylor Thompson has had a very varied career, which isn't over yet by any means!
Having run various businesses she became involved with the health service in London and founded Mildmay Hospice for AIDS patients in London. Through her work at Mildmay she saw the devastation that AIDS was causing in Africa, so she founded Thare Machi Education.
Colleen Robinson is a city stockbroker living and working in London. She has travelled to our projects in Cambodia where she attended the opening of our first classroom there in early 2005.
Olu Olasode is a trained accountant from Nigeria and runs his own business consultancy "TL First". He is the treasurer and oversees the accounts.
John Hacker runs the very successful Wych Cross Nursery in Sussex.

Simon Mabley is an HR Director at Cadbury and became a trustee in 2008.
He has been involved with TME for a number of years and in particular has visited some of our projects in Malawi.
Andrew Croft is Chief Executive of Community Action Network (CAN) and has over 20 years management experience including with John Lewis and the Easy Group.
Pastor Forbes is the leader of Christ Ministries International Church in Coventry which has a cosmopolitan congregation which meets in the Britannia hotel each week.
Originally from Zimbabwe Pastor Forbes has a young family and joined the Trustees in April 2012.
Tracy Stanbury is the company secretary. Tracy used to work in the fashion design business and now assists Helen with day to day administration for fundraising. Tracy lives in Tunbridge Wells and has three boys.
