PNKS

PNKS ("Light of Hope" is the English translation of their name) is a community group working with many villages in rural Prey Veng and Kompong Speu provinces. Container classrooms seeming less appropriate for most parts of Cambodia, we have provided funds for the building of a DVD room adjacent to the PNKS office. The money for this was kindly raised by the Pathfinders and people of Nutley in Sussex - some of whom travelled out to Prey Veng for the opening ceremony in December 2004.

There are several villages close to the site of the DVD room, plus the local health centre is just across the road and it is expected that people using the health centre will be encouraged to use the DVDs. A portable DVD player has also been provided for outreach work in outlying villages.
